I have had a Corporate Credit Card for more than 25 years with BOA. They sent me a second card with a different number. This was not set up as discussed, and they did not send statements. They processed it incorrectly, charged off the account without even notifying me, and I have never had a late payment...ever. They do not have any customer service according to employees, and no client retention. I am disgusted and hope you consider this before opening an account with them. Companies should be held responsible when they have misrepresented and damaged someone's credit.

I've never had a good experience here. Even with money in my account, it's an ordeal to get it when you need it. Looking forward to putting my money somewhere else.

Today I called BofA customer service one more time before I decided to give up using Bank of America service. I have called BofA many times in the past few weeks and have spoken to several customer service representatives, but only one has truly succeeded in helping me; her name is Allysia. She is very friendly and professional in helping me with my problem. I am very satisfied with the service from Allysia, hopefully, I spelled her name correctly. Thank you, Allysia. I am very grateful to have been helped by a customer service representative as great as her.

Waited four hours on hold to speak to a representative. Never will I bank here again. The next day, it took over an hour on hold, but the employees were courteous enough.

This bank is the worst one that anyone can use, and the reason why is because they closed my account on the credit card. First, they pre-approved me, then approved. They sent me the card and then canceled my account, just like that. No questions, nothing happened, but they hurt you with the heart inquiry.

Two deposits made in February 2025 were declared fraudulent by the bank two weeks ago; however, that was not the case. I had access to that money in February. For the past two weeks, they have frozen my account three times without justification. Most recently, they permanently closed my account and notified other banks that I was a problem, which I believe is age discrimination—I am 71. This bank provides terrible service and has a flawed computer system. Be wary—if you are over 65 and considering banking with them, I advise against it. Instead, consider moving to a different bank or credit union. I have over $8,000 in both my checking and savings accounts. They've even shared their negative opinion of me with other banks. I'm confident I could successfully sue them, but I would prefer to share my experience so that others can be informed and avoid this situation. Bank of America is not consumer-friendly.

I had a really great experience at the Bank of America on 14th St NW in Washington, DC, thanks to senior banker Eden Tadesse. She was super professional, kind, and very patient throughout the whole process.
Eden made everything so easy to understand and took the time to explain all my options clearly. She listened carefully to what I needed and gave helpful advice without rushing me. You can tell she genuinely cares about her clients and wants the best for them.
It’s not every day you find someone who makes banking feel simple and stress-free, but Eden did just that. Huge thanks to her for the excellent service! If you're banking at this branch, I highly recommend asking for Eden — you’ll be in good hands.

I have been a loyal customer for 20 years, and I spoke with Sharina, who gave me no assistance whatsoever. She in no way tried to assist me or advise on how to get help. I will be taking my business somewhere else.

This is a good bank, but the phone calls and customer service are abysmal. Every time you go on the phone, it takes them at least 45 minutes to answer. You would think that with Bank of America being such a large institution, they would offer a callback, especially since most other places have one. Sometimes, when you have things to do, you don't have time to sit on the phone for 45 minutes to an hour, listening to the music and the voiceover repeatedly. Also, many of their ATMs are not in working order. Once, one of the ATMs swallowed my card, and I had to wait 5 business days to get a new one. These two issues have me strongly considering switching to another bank, especially since the interest rates are also abysmal. It is a shame because BOFA's scam protection is among the best in the business.

I have been a customer since 1988. I recently tried to open a business account. As a 70-year-old woman, I was harassed and abused through the whole process. I spent 2 hours refilling out the application because they were "technically challenged"... live on the phone, 5 times. A month later, I finally received the account debit card.
If you're going to do business with the bank named Bank of America, remember this is the bank that has de-banked individuals because BOA does not share their political views. (IE:The First Lady of AMERICA).
Don't be misled, this bank is anything but the Bank of America; it's more akin to the Bank of China.p

My experience with Bank of America has been quite positive. A great deal on a Transfer card with quick access to funds and only a 3-day wait for the refund of an overpayment for which I was at fault. 3 Days!
Details. The Transfer Offer: late 2023. 3% fee for transfers within 30 days. 0% interest if paid off in 17 months, and no annual fee. The offer in May of 2025 is the same for 18 months. I received access to the funds in just a few days and was able to pay my personal property taxes ($3300) with it. I set up payments on AutoPay and, at least one month, paid only the minimum. Then, I increased the payment to catch up, ensuring the final payoff would be on time. In the end, I must have been anxious about ensuring the final payment was made on time so I wouldn't incur any interest, so I must have paid the last payment TWICE. The sweet customer service woman explained that it could take many days for the refund, but it came in 3 days! I was running tight that month and didn't want to have to transfer funds from a high-paying interest account, and didn't have to because the refund was so timely. Woo! Hoo! Bank of America!

Terrible customer service. I deposited a check into my bank account and it was accepted by Bank of America. Then the next day, they removed the deposit from my checking account and placed a seven-day hold on the check. I called customer service and was asked, "Why did you need your money sooner than seven days?" I said because it is my money. And the customer service representative said that I could not cancel the deposit because the money was on the way to the bank. Apparently, via the Pony Express, because it is frozen for 7 days. Unbelievable.

I had a commercial loan from Bank of America. When I got the loan, one of the Bank of America staff members required me to open an account with a minimum of $25,000. So, I deposited $27,000 to open the account. I did not touch the account for almost two years. After two years, I realized I didn't need the account anymore, so I called Bank of America to close it. Guess what! The money was gone and there was a negative balance in it. Somebody made a very similar email and took all the money. To solve the problem, I had to file a police report and go to Bank of America about 50 times. Finally, I received about 90% of the money; I did not receive around $2,000 and they closed the case. Be aware of Bank of America. I just found out one of my friends had exactly the same case with them recently. Be aware.

You cannot set a travel notification with Bank of America. Bank of America doesn't give the option to set a travel notice because they trust their fraud detection capabilities to recognize suspicious activity and protect your account while you are travelling. Bank of America will still notify you if they see anything unusual, so make sure that they have your up-to-date contact information on file before you go on a trip.
